Modern slavery and Human trafficking

Modern slavery is when an individual is exploited by others for personal or commercial gain.

Human trafficking involves the recruitment or movement of people for exploitation by the use of threat, force, fraud, or the abuse of vulnerability.

You can tell us if you suspect your neighbour or a Curo tenant is being exploited in confidence. We will support you. Modern slavery and Human trafficking is a serious criminal offence, that you should report to the police. Always report any suspicion immediately to the police.

We will work with the police to offer support if you are the victim of modern slavery or human trafficking. The police will often need to lead in serious cases and some of the action Curo can take depends on the outcomes of criminal court cases.

You can contact us to discuss any concerns on 01225 366000 (option 3). We will keep in touch so you are updated throughout this process.
