Redevelopment of garage sites
Curo has planning permission to redevelop old garages at three locations in Saltford and Bath, to deliver a total of 12 much-needed new affordable homes (four homes on each site).
What's being proposed
Curo have worked with architects BoonBrown to develop proposals for each of the three sites at Wedmore Road and Stratton Road/Camerton Close in Saltford, and Kelston View in Bath. Each of these sites offers an opportunity to deliver four modern and energy efficient affordable homes for local people in housing need.
Wedmore Road, Saltford
- 24 garages to be demolished and replaced with four x two-bedroom affordable homes
- Traditional two-storey semi-detached houses with private gardens

Sustainability and energy efficiency
All homes proposed are designed with high levels of energy efficiency and will feature air source heat pumps and solar panels. They will also benefit from electric vehicle charging points and secure cycle storage.
Design features
The redevelopment proposals would enhance the character of the area with high-quality homes that complement existing properties. the homes would feature symmetrical frontages and pitched roofs, buff brick and two-tone colouring and flat roof porches.
Consultation
Between 25 October - 8 November, Curo ran a public consultation to enable local residents to have their say about the redevelopment proposals. Households in the vicinity of the three garage sites received a pack with information about the proposals and a feedback form. Thank you to all those who took the time to respond.
