Update on communal energy charges

We’re always looking at ways to get better value for money from the electricity and gas companies who supply your building’s communal areas.

We had to renew our gas contract in October 2022, after three years with the same supplier. You can find out more about the deal we had with our previous supplier here.

Unfortunately, the war in Ukraine means that global energy prices are now much higher than when we last renewed our gas contract. We found the best deal we could, but it was still significantly higher than our previous rates.

The best deal we could find for gas was through Total Energies. It is 255% higher than our previous deal. We locked into this deal for the next four years, to give us stability amid continued uncertainty in the energy market due to the war in Ukraine. The graph below shows the deals available to us when we renewed and how these compare with our previous deal.

We were able to renew our electricity contract in October 2025 and are pleased to announce that the new EDF tarrif offered a 33% reduction compared to the rates we locked into in 2022.
