Rough sleeping
If you find someone rough sleeping in your block please report it.
We understand that finding someone rough sleeping in your block can be distressing. We work with homeless charities and, where appropriate, the police, to help address the problem.
If our colleagues finds anyone rough sleeping in a block we will remind them that they should not be there, ask them to move, and direct them to support services. We don't have the power to forcibly remove anyone.
If we witness any anti-social or criminal behaviour then we'll report it to the police.
To help prevent people who don’t live in the building from getting in, please don’t open the door to anyone you don’t know, and always make sure that the door is shut behind you.
Please let us know if there’s any damage to the front door, or if the entry system isn’t working, as soon as possible by calling 01225 366000. We’ll treat any reports as a priority.
You can report rough sleeping via StreetLink: thestreetlink.org.uk, which alerts support services – such as Julian House in Bath – who can then connect with the person to offer help. You can also email bathoutreach@julianhouse.org.uk or call 07757 727016.
If the rough sleepers are causing a disturbance, or you see any anti-social behaviour, please call the police on 101. If at any time you feel in danger, call 999.
You can find out more about the support offered to homeless people in Bath on the B&NES website.
