Reflecting on 2025's Big Get Together

This event means so much to Curo and this year’s community day for customers was another great success. The forecast wasn’t great but the rain held off for most of the day and we were delighted to welcome more than 500 Curo customers to the Hub site at Mulberry Park.

As always, there was lots of free entertainment and free food to enjoy and, amid the bouncy castles and donkey rides, there was also opportunity to engage with Curo colleagues, ask questions and hold us to account for the services we provide.

We love meeting face-to-face. We learn a lot from these interactions and we know residents appreciate the opportunity too – thank you to everyone that attended and made it such a memorable event.

Our Curo stalls saw some really great engagement, with colleagues chatting to residents about important issues, including repairs, customer services, estates management, energy efficiency and inclusion.

Curo customers were encouraged to visit all of our stalls on the day in order to be entered into our prize draw. Congratulations to our winner, Natalie Hanham (pictured below), who visited our headquarters in Twerton recently to collect her new iPad, which she knows her two kids are going to love using.

In the afternoon, attention turned to our marque, where members of Curo’s leadership team updated the audience on some of our recent work and planned improvements.

They then took questions from residents as part of our lively Q&A session, which was also live-streamed on Facebook.

Thanks to everyone who took part – we received a lot of valuable feedback and questions on topics including:

  • Accessible engagement
  • Fire emergency procedures in sheltered blocks
  • Making sure outside space matches the accessibility standards of our homes
  • Problems with our Anglia Windows contract
  • Speeding vehicles on construction sites
  • Problems with the aids and adaptations process

Our leadership team are always up for this type of challenge and they took away with them a number of issues needing further work. If you missed the Q&A, don’t worry, we hold regular sessions via Facebook – follow us there to find out more.

Here's some of the great feedback we received from customers who attended.

  • "Not all housing associations put on an event. I think Curo must be congratulated for doing it."
  • "An amazing event, can’t think of anything to make it better."
  • "I'm a new Curo tenant and really enjoyed our day."
  • "Thank you for organising such a wonderful event! I really enjoyed the variety of activities, and it was extra special to receive the lovely prize from the Curo Community Award for our garden at Vulcan House. The children had a fantastic time with all the activities, and it was great to have hot food and drinks provided. The quiet area at the café was also a thoughtful touch."
  • "The event was well run, everyone to answer questions, plenty to see and do, plenty for the children, it was a lovely day. Everyone was happy and organisers were very friendly."
