T V Licence transition period ends for over 75's

The BBC will end its licence fee grace period for over-75s on 31 July.

The right to a free TV licence for this age group ended last August for all except those in receipt of the pension credit benefit. However, in February the BBC announced a transition period due to the pandemic.

The corporation said it would also offer "customer care visits for those who require further assistance" after the July deadline. If you have family members or friends over 75 please check in with them to avoid unnecessary bills.

If you need any help or support please contact Curo’s Customer Accounts Team, we can check if you are entitled to Pension Credit and exempt from the annual charge. Let us help you, what have you got to lose!
