We’re relaunching our Customer Diversity Group with an event on Thursday, 24 April, at Fairfield House, 2 Kelston Road, Bath, BA1 3QJ.
The event will start at 12pm and includes a buffet lunch and a tour of the house, where Haile Selassie, Emperor of Ethiopia from 1930 to 1974, lived for four years.
Curo customer Sumira, a member of the group, (pictured below), is encouraging fellow residents to join. “The group is open to people of all nationalities, and you don’t have to be from a Black or ethnic minority background,” says Sumira. “You could be Ukrainian, Romanian, from the US, Australia – anywhere in the world. It’s all about hearing different viewpoints.”

As well as a warm welcome, Sumira says that customers who join the group can expect to have their say on how Curo can improve its services. “You’ll be able to change things and say, ‘I made that happen,’” she says. “You’ll also have the opportunity to form friendships with people who may be different from you.
“I love being involved with Curo. They’ve been so good to me – my home is the best place I’ve ever lived. Being involved with the Resident Engagement team is my chance to give something back.”
If you’d like to go to event, please email voicebox@curo-group.co.uk.
