Get your voice heard

Do you live in Curo’s sheltered housing or are you over 60 years old? If so, we would really like to hear from you about how we can offer you additional support and your ideas for how we can improve our service going forward.

We want to talk with customers who are interested in getting involved with a working group of like-minded people, so you can get your voice heard and can represent the views of the people who live in your scheme or receive similar services.

This group is a chance for customers to get together, connect with people from other sheltered housing schemes, give back to their community and to keep learning about what’s happening in Curo and at other schemes.

We want to include more people from different backgrounds in helping shape services, and to make sure groups represent the communities we work with.

We meet every two months for two-and-a-half hours at The Maltings, Curo’s offices in Bath, at sheltered scheme community rooms, or other locations. At our last meeting, 12 residents attended to talk about digital alarms, the review of our services, and how often we should meet in the future.

“The group evolved because we’re passionate about getting the voices of older residents heard,” says Cathy Issacs, Service Manager. “We’d love more residents to join the group to have their say on the services we provide. By listening directly to what people think we can shape our services to suit them. The group is also a great way for people to connect and have fun.”

We’ll be talking to customers about how to get more involved whenever we visit schemes or see customers in their homes, but don’t wait for that to happen if you’re interested in joining the group. If you’d like to join or find out more about joining our group, please call us on 01225 366135 or ask your Livewell Officer, Sheltered Housing Officer or Independent Living Officer when you next see them.

Taxis can be provided, if you would otherwise struggle to attend, and all meetings are held in accessible buildings, with refreshments provided.

We’d love more customers to become involved in our groups and networks. We have a range of opportunities that we are developing, based around customer feedback and the areas where people are passionate about making a difference. For further information please go to www.curo-group.co.uk/getinvolved, talk to us on the number provided above or simply ask a member of the team when you next see them.
