Curo’s Work Wise team have been supporting our residents to find work. The COVID-19 pandemic has been challenging for so many people and we want you to know what services are available to help you reach your goals.
Curo resident, Mark* got in touch with the team after he was made redundant from his job. A job which he had held for several years and didn’t expect to lose. He is a skilled individual and has many professional strengths but was still left feeling unsure and didn’t know where to start. When you haven’t had to job-search, starting from scratch can feel daunting. Here’s what he had to say:
“After being made redundant, I was feeling quite low and anxious about the job market as it had been a number of years since I had been looking for a job. I talked to the Work Wise team at Curo and the advisors were very friendly and helpful, gave me lots of tips to improve my CV with what employers are looking for in the current market.
“They were happy to review this as a work in progress and make suggestions to improve my chances, and gave lots of useful advice for any interviews that I had. I felt prepared and ready when I got the opportunity for a job interview. The Work Wise team was there for me.
“More important than this though, they were very good at helping me stay positive and motivated so when I did have an interview, I was happy and confident going into my interview which only increased my chances.
“As a result of their assistance, I am now in full-time work again and would definitely recommend the advisors to anyone that is in a similar position.”
