Curo is surveying customers’ homes in the first step on the journey to make them more energy efficient. We’re working with chartered surveying company MLCS3 to deliver a programme of Energy Performance and Home Condition (EPC) surveys.
Matt Steele, Director of Asset Management and Procurement, said: “This partnership allows us to collect the information that will be so important in bringing to life Curo’s Vision 2032.
“Through our Vision 2032 work, we’ve heard from customers, colleagues and other stakeholders about what they think our homes should be like in 10 years’ time. The surveys are the first piece of the jigsaw of understanding what it will take for us to provide the homes our customers want to live in.”
Over the next three years, MLCS3 surveyors will visit around 4,000 Curo homes to gather data on their fixtures and fittings, property condition and energy performance.
If one of the surveyors contacts you, please arrange to let them into you home at a convenient time.
We’ll use the information from the surveys alongside data from our in-house teams to better understand our homes and identify our investment needs over the next 30 years.
This data is vital to allow us to deliver planned investment at the right time to the homes that need them, as we work towards meeting the Government’s NetZero target of EPC C by 2030.
We know that energy efficiency is a priority for our customers, particularly as we head into the winter months. We know we need to do more to futureproof our homes for the next generation and to protect them against the effects of climate change.
This partnership allows us to start planning changes our homes so we can continue to house customers in years to come. This is also a great opportunity to contribute towards our strategic goal of creating Great Properties and Places and start our journey towards our 2032 Vision.
We’ll be in touch with you if your home has been selected for one of these surveys. If you’d like to find out more about what a home condition survey involves and how we use this information, please click here.

Frequently asked questions
Why is Curo carrying out is this survey?
Every five years, we will complete a visual inspection of your home called a home condition survey. We’ve also started to carry out an energy performance assessment every 10 years. This will either be carried out by Curo or one of our representatives - for example MLCS3.
These surveys allow us to understand the condition of your fixtures and fittings, how well your home is performing and what investment is needed to keep it in good condition.
We’ll use the information from the survey to make sure your home meets required decency standards and prioritise our investment so we’re delivering any replacements at the right time.
Who are MLCS3?

Can MLCS3 help me with my repairs when they visit?
MLCS3 will let us know if they find something which might be a health and safety risk so we can make sure you’re safe. Any day to day repairs will need to be reported as normal through MyCuro, our website or over the phone on 01225 366 000.
When will I hear back on any outcomes from the survey?
MLCS3 are carrying out surveys to help us understand the condition of our homes and how energy efficient they are. We'll use their recommendations when we carry out our annual investment plan review to prioritise our planned programmes.
We’ll next be in touch closer to the time your replacement work is due.
How can I find out when I’m due an upgrade?
You can check when you’re due planned work at any time through your MyCuro portal.
We aim to replace things in your home within its lifecycle but the actual planned date may vary depending on its condition, and when other planned work is taking place in your home or in your area. For example, we might decide to replace the windows and the doors at the same time or bring your kitchen replacement in line with when we are doing similar work in the neighbourhood.
We review planned programmes each year as part of our annual investment programme review so we can make sure we provide upgrades at the right time. This means the planned date may change from time to time.
