Each year at Curo’s Big Get Together, we celebrate customers who have given back to their communities and made where they live brighter, better and more pleasant for others.
Thanks to everyone that took part in our Curo in Bloom and Community Hero Awards. The entries were all really strong and highlighted some truly inspirational stories along the way.
Curo in Bloom
Our Curo in Bloom winners for 2025 are:
Balconies and Baskets – Buffy Strawbridge
Small Gardens – Susan Stallard
Large Gardens – Leann Coles
Community Garden – Eastfield Avenue Community Garden
Community Heroes
Congratulations to everyone recognised for by Community Hero Awards 2025. Our runners-up this year are:
Sylvia Supple
Sylvia is 91 years old, and has cared for our beautiful Maple Leaf garden for decades .. in all weathers and often single-handedly. She’s not just a hero but a friend to everyone.
Ros D’Arcy
Ros has transformed the entrance to Newbridge Court. It was very rundown and looked tired. It now has a new lease of life with new plants, ground covering and pots.
And the winner of Curo's Community Hero Award 2025 is Kasha-Faye Pascoe!
Kasha is passionate about free education and runs a free 20-week creative writing class to help residents in the Combe Down area. Kasha never misses a class and is the type of person who gives their time selflessly and is a pillar of the community.
Congratulations also to our Community of the Year, which this year was won by the residents of Vulcan House.
The gardening group here has helped connect the whole community and has inspired young and old alike to come together to care for their shared green space.
