Meet the Work Wise team
Curo’s dedicated Work Wise team are passionate about helping customers achieve their career goals. They tell us a little bit about how they can help customers.
Laura Bell Knight, Employability Operations Manager, says: “I've had the privilege of being part of Curo's Work Wise team for more than four years. I currently oversee the team's work to provide valuable support to our customers.
“I’ve worked in the health and social care sector for more than a decade, helping people with homelessness, housing and employability. It’s a field that I'm truly passionate about. I find great fulfilment in seeing the positive difference our team makes in people's lives as they embark on training and education in their journey towards employment.
“When I'm not working, I wear another hat as a busy mum of two wonderful boys. I cherish spending quality time outdoors with my family.
“I look forward to the opportunity to work together and support you on your path to personal and professional growth. Our dedicated team is here to help you achieve your aspirations.”
Katie Houlden, Employability Services Team Leader, says: “I’m responsible for supporting the team to deliver an excellent service to our customers across Bath, Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset.
“We can help you update your CV, start volunteering, sign up to a training course or look for a paid job. Our partnership with Bath College and construction employers helps me to support customers to get their CSCS Health and Safety Card, allowing them to work in the construction industry.
“We have many happy customers who keep in contact and update us on their progress and careers. I love how we can help build our customers’ confidence and empower them to reach their goals.
“I left school aged 16 and started my career at Jobcentre Plus, progressing from a Business Administrator Youth Trainee to a Disability Employment Adviser, working in Bath and Bristol Jobcentres. I thrive on taking on new challenges. I feel proud to say I work for Curo and realise how lucky I am to be a part of the Work Wise team.
“When I’m not working, you’ll most likely find me touring with my husband and two teenage girls in our caravan.”
Vira Niskoromnykh, Employability and Skills Coach, says: “I feel lucky to be part of Curo’s Work Wise team. I’m from Ukraine and, from my personal experience, I know the importance of knowledge and transferable skills. I strongly believe that these things make you more confident, open-minded and able to face new challenges.
“I’m passionate about self-development and grateful to have the opportunity to share my experiences with people who want to change their lives and build successful careers.
“I’m living in the UK with my teenage daughter. We support each other and the men in our family, who have stayed in Ukraine. If you’d like to know more about Ukraine and our traditions, you can listen to my show on Somer Valley FM every Wednesday. You’ll hear many extraordinary stories of ordinary people, to encourage and inspire.”
