Jane joined the Board in October 2022 and is a highly experienced Board member and Non-Executive Director. She has held Board and Committee positions in many sectors including further education, hospitality and sport and was previously a Non-Executive Director at housing associations Vivid Homes and First Wessex Housing. Most recently, she was a Non-Executive Director of Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Jane had a long professional career as a Director and Business Leader at IBM, a global technology, services and solutions company. She has broad commercial experience, combining a people-centred focus and transformational attitude with sound governance to deliver strong organisational results.
Aileen Evans (Chair, Customer Experience Committee and Board Member Responsible for Complaints)
Aileen Evans joined the Combined Board in February 2025 and will become Chair of the Customer Experience Committee from July 2025. She brings extensive experience in the housing, education and charity sectors, with more than 30 years at executive level. She was President of the Chartered Institute of Housing from 2019 to 2021 and is now Vice-Chair of its Board, where she also chairs the Governance, Ethics and Remuneration Committee. Following leadership roles at Leicester Housing Association, South Yorkshire Housing Association and Aragon Housing Association, Aileen was most recently Group Chief Executive of Grand Union Housing, leading a 400-strong team to deliver exceptional customer service, build new homes and provide support services. She has particular expertise in organisational transformation and employee engagement, and is a skilled speaker, chair, presenter and facilitator.
Alice Cummings (Chair, Audit and Assurance Committee)
Alice joined the Combined Board in August 2023. She brings extensive commercial, financial and governance experience in regulated service industries along with leadership skills gained over a successful career working in health, technical consultancy and utility sectors. She was previously CFO of InHealth Group, where she had responsibilities for risk management, people services, commercial teams, digital and IT projects. Prior to this, she spent 15 years in commercial, operational, and financial roles with the AEA Group, ultimately as Group CFO. Now a portfolio Non-Executive Director, she serves on a range of boards and committees. Alice is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and has a BEng in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College, London.
Helen Hyde (Chair, Remuneration and Nominations Committee)
Helen joined the Combined Board in March 2021 and specialises in human resources. She is an executive coach with her own practice. Helen spent over 30 years working for the John Lewis Partnership and was the Personnel Director for Waitrose and the Partners’ Counsellor, a main board role. She is a trustee of the Crafts Council and Ufton Adventure.
Jamie Strathearn, MBA MRICS MCIOB (Independent Board Director, Curo Enterprise)
Jamie is a Chartered Surveyor, Chartered Construction Manager and Trustee of the Chartered Institute of Building. Experienced in leading Development programmes across the Private and Public sector, Jamie is currently Head of Programme, Cost and Procurement at Marks & Spencer and brings experience in Governance, Construction, Financial viability modelling and Strategic Programme Management.
Joe Webster
Joe joined the Combined Board in June 2022, bring experience working in financial services. Joe is currently also the CFO & COO at Brunel Pension Partnership Limited, an investment management company which invests the Local Government Pension Scheme Assets for the South West of England and the Environment Agency. Joe is from the South West, has a young family and is proud to be part of Curo’s mission to serve and support people in the area.
Kerri Mills
Kerri joined the Combined Board in August 2023. Kerri brings over 30 years' executive experience across a number of industries including energy retail, financial services, telecoms, media and fashion. Starting out as a Chartered Accountant, Kerri found her home in Operations leading thousands to deliver customer, colleague and commercial targets. Kerri looks to combine the best of technology and people to deliver great service to customers effectively and efficiently. She looks for evidence-based commercial and financial focus in transformation and strong governance. Growing up with her mother and grandparents in social housing in New Zealand, she supports several charities with mentoring and improving employment for those with difficult starts. She is proud to be part of Curo’s mission.
Mike Petter (Vice-Chair of the Combined Board and Chair, Curo Enterprise)
Mike, a chartered civil engineer by profession, is a monitor and former director of the Considerate Constructors Scheme and Managing Director of a construction management consultancy business. Mike holds non-executive positions at the House of Commons: chairing a Construction Safety Assurance panel for Strategic Estates and as a member of the Parliamentary Safety Assurance Board. Mike also chairs a Stakeholder Advisory Panel for Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks. He has held executive and non-executive board positions within construction, housing and healthcare organisations.
Neil Sexton, CB
Neil joined the Combined Board in June 2022 after serving for 36 years in the Army. Originally trained as a helicopter pilot, his final role was as the Army’s Director of Engagement and Communications and a member of the Army Board. He now runs his own consultancy specialising in communications and the defence, security and aviation sectors. He is also the Chairman of the Army Flying Museum at Middle Wallop and a trustee of the Team Forces charity. Having lived in many rented houses in Germany and all over the UK, he and his family settled in their own home in Wiltshire in 2010.
Simon Gibbs
Simon is Chief Finance Officer. He joined the business in November 2013, the Combined Board in February 2017 and the Board of Curo Enterprise in September 2019. He brings a wealth of commercial experience to the company. Since joining Curo Simon has led the fund-raising activities and business transformation programme resulting in substantial improvements in performance. He has also been heavily involved in establishing Curo's commercial house-builder business.
Victor da Cunha
Vic joined the organisation as Chief Executive in 2011. His initial focus was on integrating three housing associations into one organisation with a clear customer service ethos. From these foundations, Curo was formed as a re-energised, social purpose driven housing association and housebuilder.
Today Curo has grown the numbers of homes in management by around 2,000, it has trebled its turnover, increased resident engagement and satisfaction and has around 2,100 homes in its development pipeline. It is also an Investors In People ‘Gold' employer, has been ranked in the Best Companies Top 25 housing associations to work for, and has won many awards for the services, new homes and regeneration activities it undertakes.
Vinay joined the Combined Board in August 2023. He is an experienced executive director and inspirational leader of change with 30 years of experience focused on Customer Experience (CX) and Digital Transformation across multiple industries. He is passionate about people, technology and company culture as well as inclusion & diversity. He is a member of various CX advisory boards and Chair of Trustees for a small charity based in Birmingham. Vinay lives with family in the West Midlands.
Charly Pike
Charly joined the Customer Experience Committee in 2024. She is an educational leader and academic psychologist with experience in teaching, policy development, and inclusion. A passionate advocate for equality, diversity, and inclusion, she has worked across a range of educational settings and previously served as Chair of a local trade union branch.
Charly is also a Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator and a former private landlord, bringing valuable insight into community engagement.
Daisy Gaunt
Daisy joined the Customer Experience Committee in October 2024, having previously served as Chair of the Oversight Committee for several years. A Curo leaseholder since 2018, she brings a strong resident perspective to her role.
Daisy works as a statistician in medical research, where she applies analytical expertise to support evidence-based decision-making. Her professional background and long-standing involvement with Curo give her valuable insight into both data-driven approaches and customer experience.
Paul Roles
Paul joined the Customer Experience Committee bringing a diverse career background spanning finance, home improvement, and business ownership. He currently works in the energy sector as a surveyor. Originally from Wales, Paul spent 17 years in New York before settling in Bath, where he lives with his rescue dog.
He is passionate about social housing and committed to ensuring residents’ voices are heard. Paul is an advocate for excellent customer service and brings strong business and customer relations expertise. His focus is on improving service quality and accountability, with a belief that everyone deserves a safe and well-maintained home.
Paul Richards (Co-optee, Audit and Assurance Committee)
Paul joined the Audit and Assurance Committee as Co-optee in November 2024. He is currently CEO of ARC, a homeless services provider based in Somerset supporting people to move beyond homelessness and on to better things. Previously Paul was Group Customer and Communities Director at Orbit, running a portfolio of 48,000 good quality affordable homes. As part of this Paul set up and led strong governance, including creating award-winning resident engagement approaches that were recognised by TPAS as sector leading.
He also gained social housing experience working as Director of Housing for Housing21, an older persons social housing provider and leasehold management experience working at First Port. Prior to his time in housing, Paul had a career spent in a variety of customer service, operational and transformation roles for British Gas, The AA and Homeserve.
