Improvements we make to your building
From 2020 Curo starts a major £20m programme of refurbishment work across more than 390 blocks of flats, sheltered housing schemes and supported housing accommodation.
This 10-year Great Places Programme will see significant levels of investment in these properties' shared areas to provide places that customers can be proud of. The refurbishment works will address many areas, including:
- Internal and external decorations
- Replacement flooring
- Improved lighting
- Improved signage
- Replacement door entry and door entry systems
- Some external landscaping works
- Roof and drainage and guttering repair or replacement works
Before any work starts where you live, we'll consult with you and we'll keep you closely informed as work progresses. We want to hear what your priorities are for improvements in your building. We'll be consulting residents in many ways; face to face, digitally through our VoiceBox community and by post.
When can I expect work to start where I live?
If you live in a Curo block of flats, a sheltered or supported housing scheme, you can see what year we plan to refurbish your block on our interactive map:
Enter your post code to find your home. Click on the icon for the block (building) you live in and you'll see which financial year work is due to take place.
What could these improvements look like?
We've been trialing some ideas at two Curo blocks of flats and feedback from residents there has been very positive:
"It’s lovely – really nice. Curo did the work so quickly and everyone who comes here says how good it looks. It feels so premium - really spacious and clean. I do feel proud to live here."
"It feels a lot more homely now coming through the front door. It’s cleaner and lighter and feels a whole lot better. Other residents are keeping everything clean too."
The photos photos below will give you an idea of the typical standard of finish that you can expect where you live:
