How your rent is set



Like all housing associations across England the rents we charge are carefully regulated. We are required to set and change rents in line with a formula set by the Government.

Rents are reviewed annually, and we contact all tenants, in advance of any increases, explaining the changes clearly.

2017/8 rent review

We wrote to all tenants a month before the annual rent review took effect.

  • If you receive Housing Benefit, we will tell your Housing Benefit provider of the new rent. Only contact them if your circumstances have changed.
  • If you receive Universal Credit you will need to contact the Universal Credit helpline on 0345 600 0723 (live service) or 0345 6004272 (full service) providing details of the new charges.
  • If you already pay by Direct Debit, we will update your Direct Debit payment. You don’t need to do anything. If you are in receipt of partial Housing Benefit please read the frequently asked questions we sent with your letter.
