Meet the Eva Turner Crew – a group of 12 young people living in Whitchurch near Bristol who are helping make their neighbourhood a great place to live.
The Crew, all proud tenants of Curo’s Eva Turner Close development, first got together last year to brighten up their street – literally – giving their bike shed a multi-coloured lick of paint or two.

For their latest project, they wanted to tackle some of the shared garden areas in the Close. The Crew, led by 17-year-old Emily Clarke, had the energy, time and enthusiasm. They just needed a little sprinkling of garden expertise to help their ideas grow.
Enter another proud tenant, Curo customer Brian Patch who recently joined Curo’s new Garden Guru team. Our Garden Gurus are Curo customers who know a thing or two about gardening and want to share their experience and knowledge with other residents who, like the Eva Turner Crew, want to improve their gardens.
Brian spent a day with the Crew in October, helping them to plant fruit trees and spring bulbs around their Close.
The Eva Turner Crew are part of Curo’s Neighbourhoodies initiative that's helping children and young people give something back to their neighbourhoods. Joining Curo’s Neighbourhoodies means the group has access to extra support and resources.
