Put your best foot forward to get Foxhill moving

On Friday 2 September people in Bath will be asked to put their best foot forward to power an outdoor screening of the new Disney spectacular, The Jungle Book. The pedal-powered screening in Foxhill’s Springfield Park has been organised by Bath Film Festival in association with Curo and Bath & North East Somerset Council.

Audience members of all ages can pedal specially-adapted bikes provided by Electric Pedals to power the projector and PA system for the movie. The cycling theme continues with tasty treats available from The Pizza Bike serving freshly made pizzas.

Event details:

  • 7:15pm - Doors open for picnics
  • 7:30pm - Performance by The Natural Theatre Company and Desperate Men
  • 8:15 – 8:30pm - Film starts (depending on light)

£2 per person on the door, FREE to under 10s.

All welcome.

DNA Arts will be running a free jungle headdress workshop at Foxhill Community Centre on Friday 2 September 4 – 7pm.  Join the team and make a jungle-inspired headdress to wear at the screening.

The pedal-powered film screening is part of the summer of cycling in Bath, in the lead up to the Tour of Britain coming to the city on Thursday 8 September.

And the cycling theme continues with a new Arts Council England funded project, MOBIS: the Mobile Oasis, coming to Foxhill soon.

MOBIS is a new, modular work created by artist Lisa Cheung to involve the local community in arts and growing. The mobile ‘oasis’ of oversized scooters and mini allotments will act as a hub where workshops are held, mini allotments are displayed and the resident/gardeners come together to share and research information, share seeds and seedlings and take part in community focused activities.

MOBIS is part of a wider Arts Plan for the area, connecting the Foxhill estate with the new development at Mulberry Park (the former Foxhill MOD site), and the adjacent Combe Down community.  The Arts Plan has been developed by independent arts consultant Suzanne Heath in consultation with local residents, arts groups, Curo and Bath & North East Somerset Council.
