Did you know that there are around 13,000 blockages to sewer pipes in the Wessex Water area each year? Blocked pipes can lead to sewage backing up into your home and could also pollute streams, rivers and beaches.
The good news is, it's easy to avoid this problem by simply putting items such as wet wipes, and so-called 'flushable' wipes, in the bin. Sanitary products and nappies can cause problems too if they are flushed.
Wessex Water's advice is to ‘love your loo’ by only flushing the three Ps - paper, poo and pee - to keep your pipes blockage free.

If you do get a blocked loo, here's a handy guide from Ideal Home magazine - we've also made a short film that will help you if your sink's blocked. Find out more about which repairs our customers are responsible for here.
