Local businesses raise £850 in Curo Golf Charity Challenge

Staff from seven local businesses took to the greens of Saltford Golf Course on Friday 5 October to take on housing association Curo’s 2018 Charity Golf Challenge, raising £850 for the Royal United Hospital’s Forever Friends Appeal.

The Curo Golf Challenge – the housing association’s answer to The Ryder Cup – is one of a series of Curo events and activities taking place this year to support the Forever Friends Appeal. Curo colleagues chose the appeal as their charity of the year for 2018 and this latest event takes their fundraising total so far to £8,300.

Curo’s Rachael Allen is coordinating Curo’s fundraising activities: “A big thanks to everyone who took part in the day and dug deep for this great cause, in particular our lead sponsors JCG Electrical. RUH Ted joined us for photographs and general mischief and all of our contractors said how much they enjoyed the day and how they’d like to come back next year. I think that’s what they call a hole-in-one result.”

Overall winners of the challenge were Bristol-based contractors NKS Contracts Ltd who beat teams from Gillman’s Appliance Specialists, Hays, Ian Williams, The Landmark Practice, Rixonway Kitchens and Curo to the honours.

Ted from the Royal United Hospital Forever Friends Appeal gives Curo’s Luke McCreery a lift to the first hole.
