Last year Holly was homeless, out of work and struggling with depression and anxiety. Today, Holly's life's in a very different place. Here's her story...
Things started to change for the better for Holly in October 2014; that's when she became one of the first people to move in to Curo's new apartments at Bath Riverside. This was the first place Holly could call a home of her own, after six months spent homeless.
But with no job, and relying on Employment & Support Allowance due to her ill-health, keeping up with the rent was tough. Her Curo Account Manager told her about our Work Placement Programme and in June this year Holly joined Curo's Contracts Team on a 12-week placement. Through the placement Holly was able to benefit from a package of support and mentoring which included training in applying for jobs and in interview techniques.
Holly never finished her placement, but only because she'd successfully applied for a full-time role with Curo, working as our Contracts Supervisor.
Holly says: "The support Curo's offered every step of the way has been brilliant, from moving in to my new home to getting this job and helping me with my anxiety. I'm really proud to be a Curo tenant, especially so now I work here too!"
Alongside her new job, Holly also now buddys new work placements coming in to Curo, offering them the kind of support she benefited from just a year ago.
