The winners of Curo’s annual Curo in Bloom competition were revealed at a ceremony on Friday 19 September in Midsomer Norton.
Over 60 Curo customers came to the vintage tea party event which celebrated Curo residents’ best gardens and flower displays. Trophies and prizes were presented in seven award categories for every size garden, ranging from window boxes and hanging baskets to large gardens and community plots.
This year over 45 entries were received from across Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire. Winners included the Chandler Rangers, a group of children and young people living in Weston, Bath, who picked up the Community Garden Award for the shared garden they have created. This was the icing on the cake for the group who had also picked up a Gold award in this year's Bath in Bloom competition.
The tallest sunflower competition was won by Safiatou Diagne of Snow Hill, Bath - pictured, above, with Curo Board member Rob Appleyard who presented the award.

Winner of the Sustainable Garden Award was Laura Lyons of Westfield - pictured, right, with her daughter, receiving their trophy from Barry Cruse MBE, Chairman of Bath in Bloom.
Abi Williams, Neighbourhood Projects Co-ordinator said: “We have seen an impressive selection of gardens across all the categories; many from new-comers, as well as a good number from previous entrants. It’s been fantastic to see how much people care about brightening up their neighbourhood.”
The three-strong panel of judges, which includes Curo customers and colleagues, visited all the gardens at the end of June.
The competition is run by Curo with sponsorship from the Landscape Group who provide grounds maintenance services for Curo. First prizes include a trophy and £50 gift voucher.
