Over the weekend of 10-11 June, one of Curo's retirement communities is opening their doors to the public as part of the Green Squares & Secret Gardens weekend.
Residents at Maple Leaf Court in Bristol have worked hard over nine years to transform their community garden into an Asian-inspired oasis of calm; planting ferns, building bridges and even constructing their very own Japanese tea house.
Maple Leaf Court is a fantastic example of what local communities can do to create inspiring and beautiful green spaces.
Curo resident Sylvia Supple said: “It’s been wonderful to be able to enjoy our gardens. It’s a small space but we’re able to get involved in ways that best suit us. One gentleman maintains a Mediterranean garden, another is cultivating a dedicated wildlife zone. We’re very proud of it.”
