18-year-old Harry is one of Curo’s newest apprentices, joining the company in July as an administrator. Harry is also a Curo customer, having lived in a Curo property in Midsomer Norton for over four years. As a student at Bath College, Harry heard about our apprenticeship programme at a jobs fair run by the college.
“I wanted to get into administration because I enjoy IT and I like working hard, but it’s also a career where there are endless opportunities. I’d definitely recommend that others look at apprenticeships as a route into work.
"As an apprentice, I get a good wage and I’m given the opportunity to learn and develop in the workplace. I was expecting pennies, but Curo offered a very competitive rate.”
As part of his apprenticeship, Harry spends a day each week at Bath College in Radstock where he’s currently studying maths and is soon to embark on a Level 3 NVQ in Customer Service, having already achieved a Level 3 qualification in Administration.
“Everyone’s incredibly friendly where I work and I already feel like one of the family. If all goes well, I hope to find a permanent position here at Curo once my apprenticeship ends. But there are so many options and having this experience on my CV will help to open other doors.”
Curo offers apprenticeships in a wide range of career paths, ranging from trades and administration to finance, housing and house-building.
