Claiming Universal Credit and struggling with childcare costs?

Do you receive Universal Credit? Are you thinking about or returning to work, or have recently returned and are struggling to pay for childcare upfront?

We know about Curo customers who have had to pay £100s in childcare costs upfront. This can cause financial hardship and even deter people from returning to work.

The good news is there is help available through the Government's Flexible Support Fund.

The Flexible Support Fund is a discretionary fund that Job Centre work coaches can use to support eligible claimants to get closer to or move into work. The fund's been around for a while, but since January 2019 the Government has allowed it to be used to pay for upfront childcare costs until a claimant receives their first wage.

If you'd like to know more, ask your work coach at the Job Centre.

If you need help paying rent, there's more help here.
