Celebrating Black History Month 2021
Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements of the black community in British history and it took place in the UK for the first time in 1987.
At Curo, we’re committed to being an inclusive landlord, housebuilder and employer by learning about, increasing awareness of and helping to tackle racial inequality. We have a zero tolerance approach to hate crime. We actively encourage colleagues and customers to report racial discrimination and any other hate crime – if we see or hear something that is not right, we will call it out and act against it.
As part of this, we are joining thousands of organisations up and down the country in celebrating Black History Month, recognising and increasing awareness of the outstanding contributions, both current and historical, that black people have made to the British society.
Our hope for the future is that black history will be cherished and promoted all year round - not just in October – and that it will take its rightful place and be recognised as an integral part of British history.
