In May the Mayor of Weston-super-Mare, Cllr Keith Morris, opened one of two new supported housing schemes provided for vulnerable people by Curo.
The properties, at Wadham Street and Alfred Street, have been refurbished by Curo to a high standard and provide 17 studio apartments with en-suite bathrooms and shared kitchen and lounge facilities.
Each client will have a Support Key Worker who will work with them, in close partnership with mental health services and other specialist agencies, to move towards greater independence.
David Wise, Curo Service Manager for Temporary Accommodation, said: "We are delighted to have opened these two much-needed schemes for Weston-super-Mare. The schemes provide supported accommodation to vulnerable single people, particularly people with mental health issues."
Curo provides a range of award-winning care and support services across the West of England. Applicants for these new schemes for Weston-super-Mare are nominated directly by North Somerset Council.
